Other night when I woke and was bored I watched a few P38 videos on the tube, usually guaranteed to send me back to sleep. Watched one about lack of power and how they adjusted injected quantity on top of FIP by tapping backwards. Their IQ was at 20mg/s and they were saying should be 5. Anyway by getting it down to 5mg/s it made a massive improvement.
Me being me after running around in the RR most of the day and engine warm checked mine which was 8mg/s. Would you folks say leave it at 8 as not worth bothering with trying top change it to 5.
Will be interested to here your replies. Many thanks

Leave well alone IMO.

Be careful what you take as gospel on Utube. You’ll remember Wammers had more than a few contentions with a lot of it.

Like he did with most things tbf 😂😉
I was very wary after seeing another clip where they had hot start issues which to me would be a timing modulation issue, but they just went ahead and fitted a hot start kit.

There is a small possibility it was an early early one that actually needed it, but chance of any such still being around after 30 years without it having been done already is extremely remote. Far more likely was a modulation issue which an hotstart would only mask the actual problem. Until the pistons hammer the valves 😂
