hi all
I am in too deep to let go, I am on my second freelander, my first was a v6 duel fuel and was great until it went wrong so I bought a td4 on a 05 plate.this apart from being gutless was great it is only used to carry the dog onto the moors.
The other day I had a bad fuel leak turned out to e the return pipe popped of the top of the injector.then when driving to work the serpentine belt snapped and now I have a major oil leak it looks like the crank seal, has anyone had this before
But all in all I am a landy fan, for now .

Welcome to the forum, best ask over in the freelander section as your more likely to get a response, I'm a tratter owner so in my limited knowledge it's timing belt replacement time but I'm sure someone more experienced in all things freelander can help you

That's the auxiliary drive belt, so not terminal, the engine has a timing chain. Not personally heard of the crank seal going, but if you haven't replaced/serviced the crank case filter it could build pressure up.
As said, post in the Freelander forum.

Thanks for the reply mike ,I just posted in freelander section .
I have run the engine without crank breather on to test this .it still pours rom crank seal so I have ordered one .
Just trying to find out if it can be removed from front or do I have to remove timing chain cover.
I can't get at it till Tuesday as I am working .
