Morning All,

Been looking to buy a range rover (95-02 series) for years, but not had the "time" (£££), and here's where I need some help.

Been looking at a 95 (M reg) Range Rover 2.5DSE which looks amazing and I dont mind the slower engine, and my question is what are the main differences between a 95 reg model and 2001 reg model?

Looking forward to hear all great advice.

My thanks
Ricardo

After 99MY updated electronics, EGR on the engine, supposedly better made.
Diesel more reliable than the V8 on average.

Great thanks..
Looks like I will be going for it than, thought there was more variances :)

Do you think the BMW 2.5 diesel engine after 129000 miles is still good for another 100,000 perhaps?

If it's well looked after, yes. I have seen reports of close to 300K with no major problems. On the other hand some have FIP problems etc. Regular oil changes at 6k miles is my practice.

Double check that everything works before you buy especially the suspension going up and down and the heater working properly also make sure there are no signs of overheating of the engine.

This is the one im looking into.. its LHD but its what I need..
Any comments are much appreciated... ;)

RHD are usually cheaper than LHD. I bought RHD for France as it was half the price. The price is very high for a 95 £2.5K is nearer the mark
From the pictures, the plastic over that fits over the injectors is missing as is the battery cover. You may find 20" wheels cause the car to tramline and wander badly, they don't like big wheels and are very sensitive to tyre makes. It has the Book Symbol on the HEVAC display which means that there is a probaly a blend motor problem, i.e. a failure of temperature adjustment or distribution, a barsteward of a job to do. I would also be wary about the Zenon headlights as they may not pass the MOT when the rules change and also may give you spurious bulb fail messages.

Later ones (post 99?) have 4 wheel traction control. Earlier ones only on the rear wheels. This simulates locking differentials and is very good.
