Just installed a in car dvd player all works fine but after listening to it for about 5 mins the battery is dead any ideas.

Was the battery fully charged when you put it on? I don't mean by the alternator because I was told by a sparky that the alternator will only charge the battery back up to the level that it started at - not to a full charge - you need a trickle charger for this.

How many amps does the DVD player use per hour ?. If one amp and you have a new 70ah battery then you may get 'nearly' 70 hours of use, nearly as batteries are never spot on.

hi guys, can i ask what dvd player you installed and whether it is now working OK.
I'm looking to install a roof mounted unit to keep my herberts quiet on long runs, but reckon the quirky shape roof will limit the number of units that which actually fit!

any thoughts

I wouldn't listen to anything else that sparky tells you. He talks **llocks.
