Finally we got out of Bishkek with a second hand engine fitted after the dramas of having to sort out the timing chains as the engine came without a pump and didnt have the tool holding the sprocket in place and also not set to TDC .
we tested it out by going to Lake Izzy kol about a 600km run.checked it over and then came on to Almaty in Kazakhstan and finnally managed to get a russian transit visa to be picked up Friday and then head out across the desert to the Russian boarder and then through to Latvia. The Russians seem to make it harder Each year to get a visa and we tried to get one in two other embassies but the rules are different in every country and the paperwork is you apply for an online visa but then you have to present a printed version of the online version and produce endless documents like insurance (health) the V5 passport driving licence and if its a tourist visa a letter of invitation and get your fingerprints taken and if a 6 month visa you have to be tested for HIV.
The service station that fitted the engine has 3 drag cars A toyota supra producing about 1000 hp A subaru impreza producing about the same and a BMW 6 cylinder producing about 600 hp, They cannot get nitros oxide here as its classed as a medical gas so the inject Vodka instead which seem to work for them.

Vodka? Would have thought it too dilute.

Russia playing silly buggers at the moment. Well, more than usual.
