I have already posted on the Defender part of the forum asking for some advice on buying a landy I had seen advertised locally but now I have bought it I thought I would introduce myself and my new project.

My name is Tom Im 25 and from Kent! That's enough about me. My new purchase is a 1984 Land Rover Defender 110 pick up she has done 119865 miles has the 2.25ltr diesel engine and is currently stuck off the road as she needs a bit of work to get her through a MOT, which is the whole reason I bought her. I have never been much of a mechanic just sticking to the usual servicing jobs, but I decided I wanted a bit of a project and when I saw this 110 come up for sale at a reasonable price I figured it would be perfect. Firstly I just want to get her on the road so a bit of welding here and there and a new clutch slave cylinder should be enough but then I will have a think of what else I can do to improve her. I have done a HPI check on landy and it that said it was 2.3ltr. I can't find any reference to a 2.3ltr diesel engine being fitted to the early 110s so I asume it meant the 2.25ltr I may well be wrong though.

I should imagine its actually a 2.5 N/A engine tbh.
