I have been using my series III more and more just lately.........its amazing, I own other cars but none as slow, noisy and such hard work........bare naked back to basics proper driving........... did i miss anything......... anyway, I will put some pics on when i figure out how to....... few questions though, ive fitted a new timing chain the weekend and its still not 100%.... the pump is fully advanced ( bought it like that because the chain had stretched) when i adjust the pump later is there any sign that im looking for?? I will get it timed at a garage at some point but plenty other things yet.... anyway, nice to be a landy owner, all the best, terry.

Terry,

over Xmas my 8 yr old golf wouldn't start(some electrickery in injection system), my lodger's Audi TT died - the A reg Series III started on first turn of key. Simple engineering may be slow, cold and noisy but it runs.

I've had mine for 12 years and its never let me down, its cold, noisy and rattles your teeth out but you still cant beat them.

If everything else is ok then pump should be positioned near the middle of the slots. Just move it each way from the centre and see how she runs, mainly looking for smoke.

Enjoy.
