I get from reading on here that most people regard these as a scare on the face of the Defender.
But mine is not used off-road and my little wife can't get in without them, so I am looking to fit some.

My question is, are the "quick fit " ones, like this...

That fit like this... http://www.sidesteps.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Land-Rover-Defender-90-tube-steps.pdf

As good/strong as these ones, which appear to use more factory fixtures... http://www.paddockspares.com/step-assy-chequered-plate-1.html

Mine is a 2003 TD5 Hardtop, so I'm assuming they would 'fit'!

Thanks all.

The quick fit ones look like they will offer more support from the way they are fitted as they have a bracing piece to the chassis similar the the original land rover single steps.
The other one looks from the picture to just bolt to the sill which I would have though would cause the sill/step to bend underneath the vehicle if you stood on it.

I believe the other one also has a brace at the front, which has to have a rivnut installed to bolt into. The rear is just the bolt you see, I believe anyway.

I recently fitted a set of the quick fit steps to my TD5 90. They are very robust when fitted and easy to fit, once I managed to remove the previously fitted and very rusted side step bolts. Look great and I have been off road in them without a problem.

There's some fantastic scenery in that picture. I bet that little canine friend in the back would like to be out chasing sheep!

I think I seen that, Lab has to wait for his ice cream and when he wolfs it down in one go can see why
That's the badger, brilliant! Have you thought about getting tree/rock sliders combines and then putting grip tape on the tubes? You get three for the price of one then. They're 150 quid a set from Timber Trail for a 110 so a bit cheaper for a 90. Flipping heavy duty too, I tripped over a set in the shop today!

Thanks for the info.
They look good too!
