Hi All

300 tdi running, but no ignition lights or functions, so no wipers indicators ect
I checked the back of the barrel ignition switch when turned to ignition 1 the live does connect to the next terminal
then the next turn of the key starts it, any ideas please?

From the ignition switch there is three main feeds into the fuse board Position1 minor aux feed so radio and clock illumination.
White and yellow for power to the board in position2 and red/white position3 only when cranking the the engine (which needs to be confirmed) as I haven't been near the fuse board for a while 🙂
The feeds are easy to see and check voltage as they enter via a connection into the fuse board the three wires together are in a protective plastic sleeve, the connection is in the top right corner, if I remember correctly.

Thanks

Just so I understand, all good at the barrel/switch, trace wires to the fuse box, and check for loss of power?
That’s about it for starters.
I cant see that short length of wire that's involved would be an issue.
unless you have been working in the area and dislodged the plug and its half hanging out, it’s quite a substantial plug in relation to the other plug&sockets. If so far ok then on to the next item u will need wiring diagram for that as alway theres a few relays involved.

Also a few fuses are involved, and you do have to find out why if any has blown, all the fuses in my D1 are factory so it shows how good the electrical systems, as the should be.
