Hi,

My ignition key is sticking in the barrel without turning. After wriggling it usually frees up and turns. Unfortunately I don't have a spare key.

Key or barrel??

Normally dirt in the barrel.
You could try an air line to clean it out then, for lubrication, you're best off with graphite powder. If you haven't got any try rubbing a pencil lead onto a fine file, tip the dust onto you key and then into the lock.
Please don't use WD40 or similar as it leaves a film behind that forms a perfect foundation for the next lot of dirt to stick to.

It's the barrel. Mine got so bad I had to take the barrel out and give it clean up and reinstalled it. Graphite helped for awhile, but finally I had to remove it.

A new one is about £30 off eBay and easy to replace, just two electrical plugs and two shear bolts which undo by tapping them round with a screwdriver.
You will however have to carry an extra key though. The original for the filler cap (and doors if your remote has packed up) and a second for the ignition.
