i went to hope Vally at the weekend and had a good day. if u google may the green oval be with you and click hope vally link it tells u a rout to take and all map points, there's a few areas just off the tracks with a few nice ruts to play in

Many thanks for the hint. I appreciate the info. Regards the ruts though-it is advised that you stick to the paths as straying causes damage and scaring to the countryside which is what we are trying to prevent to keep the lanes open, natural and in a good condition for all to use. To many are getting shut due to playing off lane. please see G.L.A.S.S/Crag & LARA websites for advice and guidance on these and many other issues. Regards john.

A small significant number of routes on maythegreenovalbewithyou are no longer rights of way. Take Shatton Moor for instance, it's not a through route for motors, so you'll be committing an offence under section 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and will be liable to prosecution if you drive it.

Where an police officer has reasonable grounds* for believing that a motor vehicle is being driven off the road AND also the manner of use of the vehicle is causing or has been causing or is likely to cause, alarm distress or annoyance** to members of the public, you can be issued with a section 59 notice can be used to initially give a written warning (valid for twelve months) and if you do it again, to confiscate your car.

*reasonable grounds = a walker, responsible green laner or landowner clocking you, or a video on youtube. A rozzer does not have to be present. The Ramblers Assoc. issue advice on how and when to report drivers to the police in line with section 59.

**Annoyance can include a noisy exhaust - or simple dislike of knobbly tyres kicking up mud.
