Hi folks, wasn't sure which section to put this so apologies for cross posting.
I wanted to ask your esteemed opinions on what I should ask for my td5 110 ? Finances & health problems are dictating sale. Any suggestions gratefully received. I've put loadsa photos & all the service history I have on my google 'blog' space. I'd be very grateful if you could take a quick look & give me an idea on price.

Should be working ok now. Best view if looking on a phone is to scroll to bottom, click 'view web version' and turn phone to landscape.
I'm not experienced in making websites!

I would think a lot of it depends on location. If you live in and around London or other big cities, where such vehicles are being legislated against, not a lot.
If you live in a rural area, probably a bit better.
Don't expect miracles, the hype about Defenders has mostly blown through now, and 110s don't seem to sell as well as 90s.
Not quite sure why that is, I have always found them to be more useful, but seems to be the way it is.

Original chasis
We sold a Td5 Ninety last year, original chassis, tidy, standard, got about what we wanted for it, 500 quid off the asking price.
We got about the same as we paid for it 5 years before, although obviously the money is worth less now.
It had been carefully serviced, but had the usual Td5 faults, bit of surface rust on the rear chassis, slight weep of oil from rear of rocker cover.

I would guess you can expect similar experiences. The one thing I would say, expect a lot of timewasters if you sell on ebay and the like.
And people ringing and asking for a "best price", without seeing the vehicle.
For internet, I would say LRO magazine website is the best option of a not very good bunch.

Best of luck.

two things that **** me off when selling a car are people that offer you less than you are asking over the phone without even coming to see the car, I always say I will take your number and if I do not get a better offer in the next month I will ring you back, this normally does not go well and the second is people asking for your best price, I think a good response is this that the advertised price is best price but if you want to pay more that will not be a problem, you are welcome to come and look at the car and make a offer if I like the offer then you can buy the car, if not you don't, that is the way these things normally work

Thank you all for your words of wisdom guys. I look forward to all the phone call time wasters etc etc.
A fellow enthusiast who knows the vehich has given me a figure to ask so I will make a new thread on here. Thanks

There's a good few Defender TD5's around for reasonable money, some ask way more than they are worth as an initial attempt to sell but find themselves dropping the price considerably. Even dealers are dropping the prices on some rough old overpriced trucks.
Good luck with the sale..

Just seen your ad, looks v tidy. I would not be shifting on that price if I were you. You'll sell without many problems I'd say

Much obliged. She's a nice vehicle. No doubt there will be chancers etc but I will stand my ground for that price or reasonably close offer.
Thanks again.
