Last week i bought this L322 with a v8 from 2004. We thought it will be a holiday car only. No used it nearly every day so far. It addictive. Its been "essexed". It will be "Suffolked" in time.

It not problem free but it drives very well.

Air suspension inactive. Well i am prepared for the worst. I know enough to know if these car don't show this fault wait 5 minutes and they will. Thats being looked at next month.

Land rover emblem missing from the drivers door card. I think i have found one though from a breaker.

Driver seat heater no working. That will be addressed.

Instrument cluster pixels missing and there are pixels missing from the main screen. Landrover have reconditioned units for not scary money. I could get both repaired but I don't know if the repair jobs are as good.

Parcel shelf is missing. No biggie that but i will have to buy one.

It needs a towbar hitch.

The previous owner did something with the exhaust. Simply the sound it makes does not get old. The previous owner also "essexed" the lights and fitted enormous wheels. One tyre need replacing soon.

Theres a bot of rust on the rear arches. That will be addressed next month.

The car will get a full service including transmission fluids. It was apparently done in Feb but since i don't know what been done its being done again.

Finally i have a V8 on my life.

I am used the 26 mpg i get from my E34 530i. This car however pushes the boat out. Me and Esso are going to get to know get to know each other very well.

Enjoy your monster. :)

Doesn’t look too over essexed. Getting the service maintenance sorted will save you in the long run. There maybe pain and tears but aslong as you enjoy it it’s worth it

Welcome

Yes Welcome,we will be hearing from you soon, Ref your problems try the search facility top right of page, plenty of info there.

@Agarange Happy new vehicle :)
Are those Sport vents? Next thing being , as I'm the sensible type, have you ensured they fixed the advisories on the MoT before they sold you it? I'd be doing those before worrying about decals.
I'd also suggest you stop going to 'Landrover', by which I 'think' you mean main stealer, and have a search amongst these pages for information on how to get the niggles sorted/ who to send them to.
If you explain the issue with your air suspension, we can ptobably save you a fortune.
Again, happy new car, you'll fall in and out of love like a teenager but she'll get under your skin :)

Welcome to the Landy Zone. RR's get under your skin. You'll love em and hate em but most of all you'll love em

Its going in next month to a local garage and the body shop next door for a bunch of work including the mot stuff and a full service.

As for the dealer i dont take it to a dealer but the dealers are the only people who have reconditioned instrument clusters and faf nav screens as far as i know. This seems the easiest solution. The cluster can be fixed but how good are the fixes. Also all the places that offer fixes are a long way away. the main screen is not so easy to fix. I have not found anywhere yet that does it.

The air suspension is inactive. While it rides fine and is not sagging it is also inoperatble i.e i cannot alter the ride height. Neither does it go up or down when the engine is switched on or off. The air pump was aparantly replaced this year but the fault code remains. Maybe it just needs clearing. Maybe its something else. I don't know.

Not rich. The arch panels for example are quite cheap. It mostly time that required. How much will depend on how far the rust has got. So its better sorted now before it gets worse over winter. Likewise all the mot advisories need addressing now before they become bigger problems. There is the beginning of brake judder which is probably related to the advisories.

Have a look at the BMW inpa software its should run on your year and it will save you a fortune being able to do your own diag and fault clearing.

If your local garage is not a specialist , they will be fine for the basics, but do you and your veh a favour and search for a local specialist. If they are a specialist, happy days.

There are quite a few places that can repair the pixel issues. The repairs are perfect. Mine was only done a few months ago. Can't give you a name , as my indy specialist sent it off. As stated before, a quick search through the pages will answer nearly every question or issue you have,
If by main screen you mean ICE head unit. There are loads available as second hand units. I recently gave one away , as, due to one thing and another, I ended up with three when changing mine.

I'm going to bow out after this, but will say: don't assume with these vehs. We are here , and between us we know almost everything that they can throw up. Use our, hard earned, knowledge, and experience, to make your journey easier. Otherwise the L322 will bite you, kick you, and pee all over your favourite blanket.
Happy motoring.:)

Got to agree with goldie:)

I pulled up at a localish specialist last friday to be told they don't take bookings on fridays. You can't even blame that on suffolk time this one was in essex.

Air suspension inactive is all i know. Without a fault code reader it hard to say. There is no other fault code appearing on the dash. Hence someone with a fault code reader to interigrate the car is required. That may be a specialist. However the local garage can have the first look as all the specialists are a good drive away.

I am bowing out as well. If i decide to fault find myself i might ask for assistance if stuck. Otherwise keep well all. Currently i am not intending to set myself up as a home mechanic.

I've seen people throw their dummies for many reasons. This has got to be the first time anyone has thrown theirs because they don't want people to be helpful.
Ah well.

P.s just noticed after having a go at us all, for trying to help, he has done a sneaky reworded edit

@Agarange Even if you don't want to do the mechanical, engine or welding stuff, you might want to consider getting basic L322 diagnostic kit. This way at least you have an idea what faults might be present, before you get a garage estimate !!
