Hi
last week i posted on here asking whether i should buy a tdi or v8, well yesterday i brought a v8 on a 90 plate for £1800 with full service, new gearbox and clutch and hardly any rust on the bodywork, today i have fully waxed oiled the underside and done a stupid thing, this morning i decided to jet wash the engine bay and the underside of the disco, i used some degreaser from a valeting friend and for got to run the engine before spraying it, i never jet washed the engine but now the disco wont start, it turns over but sounds like the starter wont fire it.
Any suggestons please!

I have also got to rehang the rear tailgate but have no idea how too?, it dropped slightly.
Can anyone tell me where to purchase a used manifold too?

Thanks for your help!
Rich

Well Done Matey!!!!!

A very wise choice in motor!!!!!!!

If it turns over but wont fire then i would take the dizzy cap off and give it a wipe with some kitchen roll, then pull all your plug leads off and do the same.

I would get a big can of wd40 and spray all the electrics. Give it time to dry out and don t do it again !!!!!...Drowning engines isnt a good plan most of the time .

Was cheap though at £1800/// I just bought a turbo that came complete with a manifold and there are a few 4x4 / discovery breakers listed on google.com just type in the bits you need.

Hiya richp1970,
As with retsgom and radicalrabit's advice, give the engine time to dry out. Remove the distributor cap and dry that as best you can with some kitchen towel, mop around the spark plugs then remove them and dry them aswell. A good spray of WD40 and it should soon fire up.

A nice choice in engine, I've had two Range Rovers in the past both with the V8 and you can't beat them! The only reason I've got a 200Tdi Discovery now is because of the MPG the V8 returns (but then my right foot can get a little heavy when the mood takes me!)

Have a look on ebay for a used manifold.

cheers guys, got her running today, had a look at the exaust and it's not the manifold but the first pipe from the manifold to the centre box.

Cheers
