Check the bulbs, then look for an open ground.

Did you test them, or just look at them?

After you've checked bulbs, get the wiring diagram, and a multimeter, and start checking the
wiring to the taillights to see what works and what doesn't.

start here. there is a ground from the battery to the engine. ...
from the battery to the side fender,..... from the engine to the frame
,..... and from the engine to the fire wall .
remember every componant ( engine , trans, transfer, body ect. is
rubber mounted so you need a good ground to all electrical units. BUT.
check for power first. hope ths starts you in the right direction

Burned out bulbs.

Might want to check out the combination switch-Nissan's switches tend to
fail on one circuit at at time, not all at once...

Did you figure it out? Does the interior dome light work? If not it is you
fuseable link coming off of your battery. At least that is what my 86 was
doing. I had no tail or running lights my dash board lights and dome light
did not work.

Im thinking it could be a bad switch or relay. Did you get the wiring
diagram? if so with a voltmeter check the fuse box space that your
light fuses plug into and see if there’s any power. then post again!!
