Picked it up today, my budget ended up being less than planned due to pet issues :) but I am happy and feel I have a bargain.

2000 X reg (so still old road tax)
TD4 ES Automatic
61k
2 owners
dark blue 5 door

£2500 I am happy :)

just has 3 faults that I am sure I can sort out easy enough
R/C/L locks all doors but does not unlock driving door
sunroof only occasionally works
multichanger is not working, but radio is :)

cant wait to get out with caravan now with it :)

your door locking issue is almost certainly a failed door lock assembly on the drivers side. The solenoid within fails and prevents it from unlocking. It is possible to strip the lock right down and replace the solenoid only, there is a thread SOMEWHERE on here about it. However, quickest and easiest, if not cheapest is to replace the lock assembly. Part no. LALR9782 K633 Lock Assy Fro, should be about £62 plus VAT main dealer.

the sunroof, well it's usually raining anyway, but it's probably sticky guides, needs stripping, lubricating and reassembling.

If the multichanger is genuine LR with a C42 head unit, a replacement is available for about £67 including vat and postage. the part no is HTC53117 for the full kit, including leads. If you can't find it, I got mine from Duckworths 01673 844722

welcome aboard

Hi and welcome,

Search the forum and make a list of things to check etc:

E.g. Auto transmission fluid should have been changed at 60k

How old is fuel filter?

Engine crankcase breather? (real name: crankcase depression limiting valve) very important.

Good luck.

I think you payed a little too much with those faults,
We got our V6 the other day for £2550, X reg 64k ES auto, only thing not right with it is a clunk under braking (braking rather than slowing), not that I'm hijacking the thread, but any ideas as to the clunk under braking? It's booked in at the garage for Wednesday for a quick once over as well as this clunk, but if I know what the clunk is I'll sort it myself and get them just to give it the once over, preferable as they are rather rather busy at the moment!

for the prices they are fetching on the net and garages I would say it is cheap. the V6 are a lot cheaper to buy than the TD4 though from what I have seen, but hey I am happy :)
