Yesterday I buttoned up my 3.9 install. This is the biggest job I've done on the Landy to date. I checked and double checked all the connections, wiring, hoses etc, took a deep breath and fired it up. The oil light went straight out and after a few turns she fired into life.
I started the next 20 mins were spent breaking the cam in and topping up fluids, then I wanted to take it up the street for a quick test. So, jumped into the driver seat, clutch in and into first, clutch out and .......NOTHING!!!!!!
Panic stations. What had I done wrong? First engine install I must have put the clutch in wrong or something "OH FFS!!!!!!" Sitting there with the engine running well but something wrong with transmission! ****E! ****E! ****E! ( lots of swearing and despair). Five full minutes of pondering taking it all back out again before I spotted the transfer box lever. It was in neutral. I must have knocked it when I was working in the cab.
It's ok! I'm breathing again and only a bit of hair fell out!
LOL!

Easy done........................ at least you noticed before pulling the trans.............................. you running that on carbs/blos?

Mine is an omvl too. But the blos needs a lot of vacuum to make it work well. Mine was a bit Heath Robinson, a long way from the carbs and a low comp V8 to boot.
The engine sounded sweeter, but was down on power and used more gas.
I guess a smaller plenum and hi comp motor would have improved things.

Just drove 3.9!! It's got a lot of GO compared to before. The Crower 500229 kicks in at about 1500 and there's a big V8 roar as you stick to the seat!
