If it didn't come with the instructions, did it come with the fitting kit, cause if it didn't, it wont work.
 
I should contact the ebay seller, if its a business they can scan them in and email them. If its a private seller perhaps they just forgot.

FFS it's a dog guard how hard can it be. Just offer it up to the opening and look for likely mounting points.
 
You just need 2 bolts, M8/M10 X 50 I think I used (and nuts n washers etc), it just bolts straight it. There's other stuff near the top you can use as extra fixings (although some making of stuff is required) if your dogs are particularly crazy banana mental fruit cake.
