i'm doing a fair bit of work under the bonnet today and it's annoying me, how do i just take i off? it's a 200 tdi defender.

i also wanna drill out some rivets without drilling through the engine

undo the R clip on the front strut most likly 2 washers as well strut should then come off then just get one person eash side and lift off simple

Ya could have figured it out for yerself quicker than askin on here. Should yer be pokin around under there really if yer got to ask such a thing?

make sure that you don't lose the bushes that help locate the bonnet when you take it off.

Bushes? Last time I took mine off I leaned it against some bushes. Are those the ones?

Not eggzactly. Unless they're rubber trees:doh:

The c shaped rubber locators that stop it rattling are the ones I'm on about.

ok so i was mostly drilling out the rivets holding on the wheel carrier and didn't wanna drill through anything else. and by work i was giving at a general clean cos i've just bought it. also changing the oil and stuff like that.
nothing major, i'm not claiming to know a lot about landys...i can drive it but maintenance, i'm learning.
