I’ve been messing about for ages getting my p38a ready to put back on the road.

It’s mostly done now. But it sits high on the passenger side.

How can I fix this?

I have a Nanocom. I can see the stored/target values for the ride height and can see that it is always over on the passenger side and under on the drivers side for the Live figures. This happens for all ride height modes.

The target heights look like they should be good. But it never actually matches the target. How can I solve this?

I couldn’t find a way to inflate or deflate an air spring individually. There is a screen that has buttons saying “Open front left”. But when you click the buttons they didn’t seem to do anything.

I've got calibration blocks somewhere in the shed. You raise her up, pop blocks in, lower her down, photo the screen showing heights, raise up, go to the page to enter the target heights, enter values from photo and then save. Repeat for each ride height. Doesn't take long. If difference across axles is large you might have to move the sensor a bit to bring the values more similar.
 
Thanks. Do you know what screen you enter the numbers in? From the 1st pic above I could take the Live figures on the right and make them appear in the middle column. I assume if I then clicked Store. It would save them.

The issue I’ve got is it doesn’t seem to lift evenly side to side. So I don’t know how I can manually set each one and then Store it.
 
You had to store. The heights in each profile and then move the nanocom height bye about 4 or 5 digits at a time I did mine but took a little while

Sorry, been so long I cannot remember. Might be the outputs menu? And yes, you overwrite the values and press the save button, iirc
 
Nanocom is generally great, but it's a PITA to do the manual adjustments because the Corner Valve controls are on different screens to the Inlet & Exhaust. (I did ask on Nano forums to change the screen buttons around but they never did it)

It's much easier to do the adjustments in EASunlock software, and then use the Nano for checking everything.

You are right, the EAS unlock suite is much better than Nanocom for anything to do with the EAS apart maybe for quickly clearing a fault.

Thanks. But what I don't understand still is, why it isn't actually getting the live figures to match the stored ones? As the live ones are wrong, I obviously don't want to use these as the new stored ones. Maybe I'm not understanding what it is trying to tell me.

The Nanocom site mentions something about self leveling and the vehicle may set the live figures different to the stored ones to achieve this, but doesn't offer any more insights. I haven't seen anything on the Nanoncom for self leveling either.

And I still don't understand how you can 'edit' each air spring individually.

But how can you individually alter the Curent values if they are wrong or don't match the Stored ones?

Also, do you know what the folder and Disk buttons do? I assume the disk is save and the folder maybe open. Is the intention here to save to a memory card and amend on a PC, then upload and use them on the Nanocom?

If the ground on which the car is standing is not perfectly flat and level, the live figures and the stored figures will not agree.
Another reason for odd readings is corrosion in the height sensor connectors.
I don't use either Nanocom or Faultmate for the EAS, so I cannot help you with how Nanocom works.

Thanks for the tip. Sadly the EASunlock is nearly $200, I don't really have this to spend. If the Nanocom can do it, I'll just use that, even if it is a PITA.

Do you recall how to control the different airbags?

I found this screen. But when I click any of the buttons, they click on the Nanocom screen, but couldn't detect anything happening to the vehicle.

The vehicle was on level ground. However it exhibits the same behaviour where ever it is, always high on the passenger side and always low on the drivers side.

The height levels where fine until I had an issue with the air suspension (took me ages to find, was a ruptured pipe from the valve block to the air tank). While trying to figure this out, I disabled the EAS (relay under the passenger seat) and inflated each air spring separately by removing the air line for each from the valve block and using a separate pump and individual valves.

Since fixing the ruptured line and reconnecting the relay and air lines it has exhibited this behavior of high on the passenger side and low of the drivers.
 
I am pretty sure that’s what I used (and probably will again when needed) special lead needed.

As I said I am sure @Datatek does a lead and software on a disc (windows only) might be worth a chat with him.

It looks very much like the car is currently at standard height but you have selected the high screen. To change settings you need to be on the correct screen for the selected height. In other words select access then select access screen, the stored for access will be shown and the actual current heights for access will be shown. You can then adjust access. Then do the same for other heights. For motorway and standard do not have the front bit count more than two different side to side.,

That is the valve test screen, when one is selected the appropriate valve should click. Nothing will happen with the suspension unless the exhaust or inlet valve is open at the same time. Find the height selection page where you can select to go to various heights.

Ta. A little confused, it says Classic Range Rover. Will it work on a p38 also? Do I need the "special" cable for a p38 or will any series to OBDII cable do? The info seems to imply the special cable is only needed for a Classic.
For the RSW EAS software, you need a special cable which i can supply.

Thanks. It currently doesn't have an MoT, I'd really like to get it sitting level before taking it for one.

Hi. In my first pic in the op, the car is in the High/Extended mode on the dash selector. As you can see the 'Left' side current values are all higher than the Stored ones, while the 'Right' sides are lower.

The 2nd photo the dash selector was in the Normal ride height position. And again the 'Left' side are all over and the 'Right side all under the Stored values. When viewing either screen it did not seem to be possible to 'edit' the numbers, just copy the Live to the Stored column, which to my mind would just end up with the Stored values being wrong as the car wasn't sitting level.

What I really don't understand is, why do the Live figures not match the Stored ones? As in, why is it leaning to the drivers side. Apart from previously inflating the air springs separately with the EAS disabled until I got the air leak sorted on the line to tank. Nothing else has been touched, replaced or moved. The springs haven't been off and I've not touched the height sensors.
