Hi All,

I have a few questions now that I am finally bolting bits back onto the back end of my LSE for good...

Can anyone tell me where the following should be routed to:

  1. Rear Axle Breather Hose - was missing when I got the car and I cannot work out where to route it to that's a worthwhile distance above the axle. Wondering if it's worth linking a length of pipe onto it and running it to the engine bay with the others?
  2. EAS Exhaust Hose - was routed into a hole in a chassis crossmember when I got the car but that doesn't seem right.
  3. Fuel tank breather - the Charcoal Canister is missing but I cannot work out where the bit of the hose to it that I have left is meant to run. Once I have it in the right place I'll replace the rest of the line and the bits in the engine bay.

Could the canister pipe have run to the filler neck or fuel tank upper most part?
I did some work on a car last week were the tank was dropped to deal with a hairline crack on the pump head. (petrol) the pipe on the canister ran to fuel tank upper most part.

If its the same eas block as the p38 it has a screw in fiber exhaust piece.

For your breather tubes, bring them as high as you want, depending on whether or not you are doing some wading.;)

thanks for the message back. It is indeed great news that bits are starting to go back on, but I still have a long way to go!

RE the tank breather, I have connected the large (circa 1”) hose to the filler neck but also have a small plastic line which I understand is part of the missing evaporative loss system and should connect to the charcoal canister in the engine bay. Thing is, I can’t seem to match the curves in it to the chassis any way to route it. I’m wondering If anyone might have a photo during boot floor replacement which shows which direction it goes in? Perhaps I’m missing the point completely though and It goes somewhere else!

For the exhaust on the valve block, it’s unfortunately not the same as a P38. I assume that the reason is that the valve block is mounted under the drivers side floor rather than in the engine bay, but the inlet and exhaust run on long hoses. The inlet clips on the body near the fuel filler neck, but the exhaust I don’t have an end at all. Somehow I cannot believe they just poked it into the chassis and called it good enough! Perhaps I should see if I can just fit the silencer off a p38 valve block instead.

I’m not planning to do any deep wading, but I think it’s probably best to prepare for worse than you plan to do...

Your welcome, sorry I couldn't have shed any light... Hopefully someone with an lse can offer some answers. ;)
