Help needed, My horn on my freelander 1 06 plate is only working when I turn right. Nothing has been done to the electrics/radio only just discovered this, any ideas as to why this is

not being freelander savvy but it suggests the slip ring/ rotary connector is faulty if the horn buttons are in the steering wheel

To confirm the ring failed does the radio control for volumes and channels.the horn is on the same rotary ring another expect will give better advice. The steering wheel will have to be removed as the airbag needs disconnecting.

Yes sounds like the rotary wiring that connects horn, airbag and volume controls to allow the steering wheel to turn has failed with one or more wire broken..

Hard to find good ones but not too hard to change. As said, battery needs to be disconnected for 15 mins before air bag is unplugged to get to the ring. Its called a 'clock spring' as it winds and unwinds with the wheel turning.

If you have a manual gearbox, the cruise control lines will be redundant on the rotary assembly, so you can check the continuity on those, which of good, you can swap the horn wiring over to use instead.

The problem with these rotary assemblies is that the copper tracks fracture over time on the flexible surface, which is why it only end up working in certain wheel positions.

I ended up buying a new replacement from Bearmach, when mine completely died.
