Hi all. I had a 2001 Freelander about 10 years ago which, after many years of faultless family service, was sadly wrecked by an inconvenient motorcycle soon after it became mine.
I have returned with a Freelander 2 2007 2.2 GS in a fetching silver. It's got a great MOT history but has been run on a bit of a budget for the last couple of years and hasn't been serviced since a 'B' one in mid 2019 at 93000 miles. Prior to that, the service history is decent. Cambelt and water pump changed at 89000 and it has 129000 on the clock now.
It seems OK, doesn't have much in the way of optional extras but is clean, tidy and hopefully solid. There's a bit of a clatter from the engine when cold and the tyres are matched in pairs but not as a set of 4. That seems to be it, a bit of intervention now and hopefully it'll last a good while. I am a bit concerned that the Haldex etc hasn't been inspected for 4 years but I'll have a read up on here and have a crack at it. Would that be the most important job to get on top of, aside from engine oil and brake fluid changes?
