chock the wheels. let the handbrake off. Hit handbrake drum with persuasion tool aka hammer.

Stick it in low range and at idle speed gently ease the clutch up, it might bang/clunk a bit but don't worry. Give it a few more revs if it resists a lot, but not too many.

If you have to horse it then its probably to far gone and doing it this way may cause damage. At this point you will need to get under it and give it a knock about with a hammer as said above.

Take the rear propshaft off the handbrake (4 nuts) then remove the hand brake drum (1 or 2 screws). Then spray the mechanism (on the right looking from the back) with WD40, and free it with a light tap. Give it a good clean with the WD40 befor re-assembeling it.

If you just hit the pin with the hammer it will only sezze again next time you put it on!

Takes about 10 minuits and well worth it, in fact, i probaly could have done it quicker than ive described it! ;) :D

Richard.

Rock it back and for but will have too strip it and clean and grease the pistons dont lose the little rollers

ooh, this happened to me, but it was because the hand brake shoe was broken into 2 parts and one was on top of the other so it wasn't freeing to allow me to move forwards, so I stalled it which released it, then it went, and then I had to get a new hand brake shoe, I would imagine this is not your problem though?!!
