Hi, i have spent hours trying to find out more on the issue of front fog lights in the 2,5 DSE auto.
I am looking to go and buy said car on monday...however the one i am looking at has front fog lights fitted in the bumper though there is no corresponding switch and I havn't checked whether the whole of the light unit is fitted or just the glass. I have deduced that there should be a blanking plate/grill that allows air to the transmission oil cooler there.
I would like to know if anyone can offer me advice regarding the possible consequences of not having these blanking plates in place and having the fog lights fitted. Long term as the short term consequences are pretty obvious....transmission oil overheating (especially when towing)i'm guessing.
However I would like to keep the Foglights if possible and will rig an alternate cold air feed to the cooler if this hasn't already been done when the fog lights were fitted. Would really like feedback from someone who has managed to do this successfully......or failed miserably!!!
Cheers
