I tried to replace the pins with stainless M8 caphead bolts. I couldn’t get the hinge jig to hold the hinge at the correct angle, and ended up binding up 2 bolts. That was 2 hinges down and I thre the towel in. Some websites lead you to believe that it’s a simple 2 minute job, but it isn’t. I had access to a machine shop when I tried it, and still struggled.
