Hi guys
Ive had my disco 2 td5 since it was pretty new an its now 20 years old.
Its got a strange fault that ive been puzzling over for close to a year now ... the green hill decent light is stuck on ... if you push the hill decent button it chimes everything seams to be working ok but the green light just will not go out ... hawkeye doesnt find anything and its been on snap on scanner as well which finds nothing ... any ideas please ? Not found anything online about this issue

So if you activate the HDC does it work as it should downhill?(it must be in low gear you know?) that's important to know cos it can be something which triggers only the warning without the system to be affected... do you have RAVE?

Many thanks for the reply

Everything seams to be working although its only been tested on a very steep hill not on slippy stuff as yet...
yup i have rave

If the systerm is working then it's possible to be only a warning lamp circuit issue, see RAVE- Electrical library - connector views, go to C0047 pin 23(White/pink wire) and pin 25(white/yellow) and measure voltage against body on them with needle probe in situ and report the result, if no voltage give 12V live with a wire in that pin and see if the lamp goes out or not...if there is voltage well speak again.... make sure you dont confuse it with C0067 near it by corroborating the wire colours with the pins cos the connectors are same shape and there are cases when theyr's position is the other way around

Mm so problem ive got is ive found the plug and it looks like different colour codes cant see a pink and white wire :-(

Who said about pink/white? cos pink/white is not the same with white/pink as the second colour in that "composition" is a thin trace

I thought that's the easyest place... others are in C0504-17 or C0233-10 same colour wire

It may also be useful to mention that the light does go out for a second or 2 when you first start the engine but then comes back on

Then unfortunately you'll have to check at C0233-10 too and if you also have 12V there the problem is within the instrument pack cos that 12V feed is supposed to switch off the warning lamp so if it gets untill the IP it means the problem is beyond that path

See the connector views... it's plugged into the IP...actually not a killer, 2 screws and the binnacle out
