Hi All

Thinking of fitting a single brake light above me fender rear door. Been mighty foggy round here and gets real dark.

Can find what I want by searchin, so any top tips for a light and best way to wire it in?

Cheers:)

Depends on if it is a single 25W bulb or one of those long LED types.

Either way, you should be able to drill a hole through for your cable and attach it to the existing brake light circuit.

Should work OK with a single lamp, although I'm not sure about LED's as some have had problems with them!

Good idea though! :) :)

In addition to the one already fitted at the top of the rear door.......? Or didn't all Defenders have them like wot mine does? Mind you mine is not working - fitting/bulb is fine, must be earth - but watching how you get on as ditching it for something else might make more sense....

Good luck. A

You need to decide inside rear window top, or above rear door on the outside, there are plenty of LED ones on ebay , and tis just a matter of selecting one suitable and running a wire down to the rear brake light circuit , on the o/s rear of the vehicle , and also a earth , so that its not relying on earthing thru the door latch or hinges. Cheers Gents, Ill give it a go. Was just worried about whether I needed to put a relay of fuse in the circuit to above blowing the rear circuit.
