Hello fellas. I hope i can get help from here to my freelanders high rpm problem. 1.8 -99 manual

About 2 weeks ago my freelander started to act up. I slowed down to park my car and noticed that revs did stick to somewhere in 3500rpms when clutch pressed. I restarted car and rpms were normal. Day after these symptons came back. When engine is cold rpms are about 2000, and when warmed up about 4000.

So far what have i done:
- cleaned iacv and tps
- checked throttle cable (ok)
- checked vacuum pipes (ok)
- sprayed all connectors with crc contact spray and checked wiring (seems ok)
- replaced iacv with used part
- cleaned throttle body

What should i try next?

I forgot to mention. These symptons started day or two after i replaced my power steering pipe. I didnt notice there was a spool valve and it did fall off with spring. I did put them back but not sure if its correctly. Power steering works ok tho.
 
The the PS is a red herring. The ECU will maintain idle speed as load from the PS is imposed, but it won't rev the engine to 3500 to compensate.

It sounds like a sticky IACV, faulty TPS or a large vacuum leak.
 
Ive triple checked all the vacuun lines and connection, no problem with those. If theres a leak it must be underneath intake manifold and i cant see that. Maybe there is a massive crack but engine sound normal.

First iacv was ok, i put wd40 in it and it got stuck right after that. I dont know how that is possible but i didnt have enough strenght in my hands to get valve to move. Ordered a used replacement part and installed it, no difference. Can be a bad connector? I sprayed some crc contact spray and it didnt help.

Tps is not stuck, it has grease, contact spray in connector, can tell if its working or not.

Throttle cable works properly, no sticking, throttle body is cleaned and moves 100%.

IACV is a on a stepper motor and cannot be moved by hand without damaging the mechanism.
 
This one is solved. I sprayed some wd40 into iacv again, bended pins of iacv connector and did throttle calibration. Now idle is 800rpm like it should. Dont know what actually did the job, but it was one of those.
