Hi ,
New member a few months ago my shogun pinin rotted away so purchased a land rover freelander 2004 1.8 petrol se for a great price of £900 the car is sorned and will only be used on my land to move stuff around etc had it a few months and done 60 miles already lol .
69000 genuine miles all electrics work as they should body work is amazing no rust or dents almost to good for a field 4x4
All tyres are bald so I’ve just ordered some mud tyres to get me up the field as these get stuck in the slightest wet day .
A few days ago o had the dreaded head casket failure so I’m going to bleed the system and ad some steal seal I really don’t mind spending £400 on having a new casket fitted if this failed to fix it as it was a cheap car to start off with .
My question
1is the bleed valve to bleed the radiator on the engine block is this the rubber thing with a cap on ?? I know there’s a screw going to the inside needs pulling out and the pipe near the dipstick. It’s just the one on the engine some YouTube videos show a screw over internet answers point to the long rubber thing with the cap on .
2nd question
Do I change the oil before adding the seal seal or after ? I’m thinking after as if I do it before some water could still get in and il have to change it again . But on the other hand car as to ring for 30 min at least and wouldn’t want to run it with water in engine any advice on the 2 questions would be much appreciated
3rd no heating either blower works but only blows cold air is this definitely the thermostat or a simple fix ?
Thanks
