So, here i go again, asking someone on the other end of my computer for advice on my Landrover Discovery. And we pay mechanics!!!!!!!!!
On a previous thread, I asked why I was getting a shudder under the brakes, then why my ABS light was coming on - So you up to speed?
***RIGHT ***
Now, the issue is that I was under the understanding that while my light was on, I didn't have ABS. That I could handle. I have been saving peenies to buy a new back wheel sensor.
As I was driving on Saturday, I came to an intersection, and applied my brakes to stop, and all of sudden, there was a big shudder, and then brakes AT ALL! the Discovery wouldn't stop.
So, I get on the phone and the mechanic says, "Bring it down, I will take it for a drive to see wots up".
I get down there, and it never skips a beat. My partner to doesn't have any problems with it. They were thinking that I was over exagerating.
At last, my partner takes it for a quick jit down the road, pulls into the carparks outside of the shops, and puts their foot on the brakes, and it shudders and doesn't stop and nearly goes throught the hardware store window.
***SO YOU UP TO SPEED WITH ME?***
My question after that big blah, blah, is:
Can I take the relay out from under the dash, to disconnect ABS completely, until I recoop enough pennies to replace the wheel sensor? If I take it out, will have just have normal braking?
Any ideas on to what else could be the problem with it?
Any ideas or things to check would be great as things that I could do at home are free, as to paying a mechanic to do nothing, isn't getting me any closer to that new sensor. QUOTE:"they are a small fortune to buy".
Many thanks
