However,
1)remove the fuel gauge sender unit
2)disconnect the two wiring connectors from under the top of the pump unit assembly
3)release 3 retaining clips and separate the top of the pump assembly from the base. take care not to strain the fuel hose, and recover the compression spring from the fuel filter
4)carefully release the clips and remove the filter from the base. discard the o rings, new ones must be fitted
5)lubricate the new o rings with silicon grease an fit them to the pump base inlet and outlet ports
6)fit the new filter ensuring that the sprag clips fully engage
7)refit the compression spring into the fuel filter recess and refit the pump top to the base. ensure that the slots engage correctly with the lugs
8)refit the sender unit.
