Hello all,

I am currently living in Argentina and arrived here on 12 February.
I have just bought a Discovery 2 left hand drive TD5 2004.
I came here straight from Australia but am British working for the FCO.
I do not think that there is much expertise here as far as Land Rovers go and as a foreigner I am struggling to get even the simplest of items (axle stands) here, they don't seem have the usual shops that sell tools and car parts etc.
I have managed to order a front window regulator, some replacement leather gaiters for the gear, transfer lever
and handbrake and service kit from the usual on line UK providers. Thanks goodness for the internet!
I will need to buy a Bearmach Hawkeye total asap as I have the dreaded 3 Amigos lights up.
It will take me 4 times as long to fix anything as first I have to diagnose or realise I need something, maybe a torx bit or an ABS sensor, then order it and wait the 3 weeks it takes to get here in the BFPO bag.
I will be relying on all of you on this forum for advice and help as I am, as I say, pretty isolated here so please be free with your advice and help!!
Looking forward to joining in with the forums and everything else and before I finish my previous Land Rovers:-

Discovery 1 200 tdi had for 4 years rotted through in the back floor.
Discovery 2 TD5 full spec, ACE leather, double sun roof, etc, beautiful car, only thing that ever went wrong with it in 112,000 miles was an MOT failure on a leaking steering box!.
110 Defender bought brand new left hand drive, first of the TD5s 9 seater took it to Ethiopia and not one problem, bought it from Conrico.
Now this Disco 2 TD5 and very basic.

All the very best to you all

Peter

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the loonyzone.

Piccies , we like piccies.
If you have not already download the Rave workshop manual.
Also , not sure if they have them on worldwide vehicles, but if they do, make sure you have the EKA code and a working second fob.

But.....................Piccies

Cheers
