hi guys i want to mount my hi lift jack securely and lockable only the side of my expedition roof rack but i cant seem to find a mount to be able to do it so i thought i might mention it on here to see if you guys can think of anyhting for me:)

Mine sits nicely behind the front seats and is strapped to the seat frames.
Doesn't get in the way at all.
 
long bolt with an hole drilled in it. stick a padlock in the hole :doh:

Thanks for the help guys, mine currently sits behind the driver and passenger seats, but I just want to mount it on the roof rack as I just think it looks the part

If ya do mount it outside Keep it well oiled and the mechanism covered from the elements. Or 1st time you need it the bugger will be fubar'd
 
Got mine mounted to my bull bars using a set of exhaust clamps with a bolt welded to it and a set of wing nuts to fasten it on , thinking of swapping one wing nut to a locking wheel nut :)

I have mine bolted on the outside because it's easy to get to. Proper cover over it to stop most of the sand and mud getting on it. I wouldn't fancy getting it off the roof in a precarious situation that would be irritating...or having too much weight up top. The suggestions inside the cab bolted down look like good ones.
