Hi Guys, looking for a little help with my 1999 p38 4.6 R/R, battery died on me on Sunday after visiting my dad, green flag jumped it back to life drove around 20 miles home, parked up on drive over night but left it unlocked, started first key following morning, however only drove around 8 miles parked up at lunch, locked it with fob all seemed ok, following morning dead as a door nail !!! i have been having problems with the sunroof not closing at the end of its movement would this cause the battery to go flat, fault comes up on dash as sunroof open when it appears to be closed.

No idea about Rangie faults, but as for basic car electrics:- Is the battery healthy? It may just be going knackered. Likewise is the alternator charging OK? I would have thought the recovery chappie would have checked these things out for you at the roadside.... These things are the quickest and easiest to check before investigating further IMO.

Assuming the battery and alternator are perfectly fine then this is only a total guess on my part - IF the sunroof was partially jammed and the motor was not shutting off it would in theory cause a constant drain on the battery unless it blew a fuse.Or something else electrical in the car is draining the battery.

Diff.
