Evening all,

I'm Nick, in the West Mids, and clearly new to the zone! Have been viewing from the sidelines for a while and decided it was time to join. Currently looking for my first buy - but can't make my mind up on what I'm looking for (my heart is looking for some fun in a Series 3)...

Would be great to hear who is about in the West Mids, especially if there are packs of like minded that take off to the wilderness once in a while that wouldn't mind a newbie tagging along (recovery is a team game and all that...) and above all else, I think there is only so much Land Rover chat the future wife can handle!!

Well after months of searching, it's finally happened...

Now the proud owner of a 1973 S3 SWB, which was bought by the heart and not the head... Two days of pulling it to bits on the drive shows a chassis of Swiss cheese, anything that once turned is pretty munched seized and its only just a few months outside being tax exempt.... But it's perfect!
Looking forward to getting amongst it with the welder (once I've learnt how to use the thing!)

Hope everyone's having a good weekend, time to nurse the spanner rash with a beer or three!!
 
Welcome Nick. I'm just up the road from you in K'ford. A lad from work wants to do some easy lanes in his slitty (he drives a panini or some sort of foreign sandwich) on friday, tag along if your free and fancy it.
 
Some lanes near by would be spot on.... But judging by the number of pieces the S3 is currently scattered in across the drive/ back garden and garage I don't think I'll be going anywhere in it too soon...

Maybe I should star looking for a stop gap! Where abouts are you thinking of heading??
 
Just around South Shropshire. I didn't realise your Series was a non runner at the moment (I'd only just got in from the pub when i read your post :D ). My 90 is full this time out with gear and my two lads (it usually is to be honest) but I can give you a shout next time if you like.
 
Hi dude welcome to forum im from burton and have some friends in wolvo area we go laning out that way regualer mate get that chassis solid we will hit some lanes man
 
We're always up for more people to come and play so once you've a truck please check out the off roading and green lane forum's :)
 
your only down the hill from me fella, im up in penn (wolves) look out for the maroon disco just off the a449.

steve would a tag along be acceptable? ive done a most of the stuff through claverly etc but new places are always fun.
are you on about an evening out or in the day time?
