G'day, I just joined this site last night, we have had a couple of 2a 88" a 109" ex Australian Army Series 3 and a 1976 Rangie, as well as a lot of other branded four wheel drives over the years. We have travelled quite extensively through Australia, particularly the Desert Country. The Land Rover we have bought is in Victoria ATM I fly over to Melbourne to pick it up on the 24 Jan and bring it back to Tassie on the overnight Ferry. The car is a 1997 Defender 300TDI 110 with 220,000kms and looks to be in pretty decent shape, the car will be adapted to suit our needs for travel and general use in due course. The vehicle that we bought new in 2013 is an Isuzu D-Max Space cab 4X4 that we spent a huge amount modifying to suit us just doesn't have any personality  and a number of the "improvements" made to it let us down badly on a Desert trip last year ( Broken water tank, shock absorbers, leaf spring and a few other things ) First time we have ever had to 'cut and run' from a trip. Nuff said. 300 TDI is a bit opposite to where we headed with the everything new approach last year, I'll see if I can load a pic or 2 when I get it home. Cheers for now. Kanga.
