$_57-14.JPGHi, first post and introducing myself.

Expat currently living and working in Luxembourg - been here for seven years.

I have just bought a 1966 Series 2A 88". She is an ex Army LR 1/4 ton GS and I have a little bit of history on her. She is pretty sound mechanically - a little rough around the edges - but aren't we all nearing 50!

She is a 2.25 petrol, has Fairey OD and FWH. No other modifications presently other than she has a truck cab. Currently T@T and is being used as a daily driver for the run to work - cab is off and we have been enjoying the sun:)

Initial plan is to service her and keep her ticking over - and use as much as possible. Will slowly tidy up whilst being used with a view to fitting rear bench seats / lap belts and to get a canvas tilt. Mid terms plan will be to get under the body work and think about a little restoration whilst trying to keep her as standard.

Although I have had Landy's before (Series 3 109, Defender 90 and a Classic Range Rover) I am no mechanic. My intent is to actually get my finger nails dirty properly this time around (rather than the panic default of heading to a LR garage) so will be trawling the site for hints and tips on servicing and restoring her..... so I apologies already for any forthcoming bone questions.

Cheers
Paul
