Hi Guys and Gals!

Havn't got a Landy as yet. Going to get a Free Lander in the next Month hopefully. Want the Diesel, SWB, and pre 2001 for the lower Tax. Have been looking on the bay at 1998/1999/2000 years. If you Guy's can give me any info on what i should be looking out for i would be gratful.

dont get a freelander unless you want to empty your bank account on fixing it

The Td4 is the best Freelander & was available from 2000 onwards. Forget Defenders & Discoverys if you don't do much offroading, the Td4 will give you between 30 - 40mpg drives better on road is easier to park etc. If you want to use biodiesel the go for the older L-series as they can run on anything but Td4s are a little fussier.
The Td4 has an updated IRD which is less prone to failure than the earlier L-series.
