Hi to one and all, just a quick intro from across the Channel, although I'm originally from North Staffs.
My previous Land Rover history includes a Series 3 lightweight stretched a little and dropped onto a 90 chassis with the necessary Rover V8 and LT95 box, two V8 Range Rover Classics, a 200 tdi Discovery, a 90 TD County Station Wagon, a Discovery TD5 and finally Discovery 3 HSE. Currently Landyless but will shortly be on the lookout for a TD5, hopefully an auto.

Welcome to the mad house.

We got loads of good tech info on ere for the like minded enthusiast.

How do you like France? I didn't like it much TBH and was pleased to move on to Germany.

Suits us down to the ground, we're out in the sticks at over 2200 feet where folks look after each other a bit like the UK was in the 60's. Plenty of old Landy products round here, they don't use salt on the roads!!

Sounds fab. How close to the Alps are you? Would love to move out there at some point, especially if there's skiing not far off.
Welcome to the forum and be sure to let us know when you get your next Landy. :)

Sorry for the tardiness in replying, thanks for the welcome. As regards the Alps, we're about 5 hours from there, but only an hour and a half from the slopes at Le Mont Dore and Superbesse, which whilst not anything like as extensive as the Alpine or Pyrenean slopes ( 6 hours away ) according to my skiing friends are both good to ski and quite a bit cheaper! Plus being in a volcanic area ( albeit they're extinct! ) there are also thermal baths at the centre of Le Mont Dore to soothe away the aches and pains. I'll be sure to update you when I make a purchase.

Got one! 1999 Discovery Td5 auto, completely original, it managed the run from the midlands down to central France averaging 32ish mpg or just under 9l / 100km if your brain works that way!
