Hi all, just thought I better introduce myself before I start quizing you all on land rover related problems!
My name is Kieran but everyone calls me Key and I live in Halifax West Yorkshire. Im a biker during the summer but have a winter car to get me around when the weather gets bad which used to be a 1.3 Skoda Felicia but I'm now proud to say I have upgraded to a 95 Discovery 300 2.5TDI in green ( & bits of brown!)
She's a bit rough around the edges but most of the welding work has been done and nice & tidy inside. Got her for £600 without an MOT but now have that for less than £100 including the MOT fee so think I have a good deal. She's been green laning for a few years & not been looked after but I intend to bring her back to her glory by first sorting the mechanicals and then the bodywork/looks.
Has a 2" lift kit plus poly bush kit but no fan!! amazing the things you miss on a test drive. presume its an off roading thing.
Will be on here regular both learning & helping out whenever possible. New to Landy's but have pretty good knowledge with mechanical/electrical stuff with a few engine rebuilds under my belt for both 2 & four wheel.
Had a little trouble starting the other day but just tested the glow plugs and all four have open circuits so strange but a cheap fix!!
My first port of call with the project is that the crank pulley bolt is loose causing a horrible noise under acceleration, probably a bodged job by previous owner.
Already tried getting off using various methods mentioned on here (breaker bar, starter motor, impact driver etc), but it's got half way out & stopped so will be purchasing the locking tool from difflock in the next couple of days. If anyone needs to borrow it in the future just get in touch and for the price of postage & a beer you can borrow it.
All for now
