my names adrian, or adie for short

i am 23 and an IT engineer, so i really need to get out!

just got me a 1985 V8 Land Rover. got it from a company my mum works for under silent closed auction.

i live by odiham in hampshire (inbetween basing, alton and farnham basically), cant wait to get out and about, i know a couple of lanes near me.

been into street cars really (yer i know hearing you snore, but i like classics better) living in the coutrnyside all my life and finally got the change to start offroading, so i am!

we are looking to get it running, doing a little rebuilt and painting where possible, role cage it, sweeten the v8 a little, lifting it in the future but doing body protection new doors windscreen and roof for now, aswell as the winches and normal bits. laptop and gps with cam facilites to go on aswell.

is a short wheelbase cab style, with no roof doors or windscreen, turns over but doesnt start, nota scratch on dent on the body an only done 22K!!!!! we think that is the right milage as its been in storage allot, it was baught for the company to test radio exquipment on so has been a demo for the last couple fo years.

havent collected it yet be be sure i will update you all with pics and info, (might be asking thsoe questions that seem abiouse to you at some time aswell!)

going to put things on my website, please dont see this as trying to steal people, i will link everything across, just easier then uploading it and its for the family to see to.

nichnetwork.co.uk

when its all done, hopefully meet up with some of you to show me how its done.

cheers

adie

hope yu got a thick skin and thicker wallet.:dnfnoob: :nopics:

Yer i have one or two mates that do green laning, but there the SJ sort lol i have lived in the village all my life so sure aware of those locals,

they one stopped a motobike park frmo being built on grounds of noise, 5 miles AWAY!!!!!!!!!! so they def are prats.

brill, didnt think there would be so many so close, sure will, cant wait to get it on the road, or off as it where

cheers

Get a nos kit for you to scareyorself silly with and wack it in with lpg.Oh and also get bfg mud tyres as the v8 will eat **** ones for summat to do.:welcome2:

Hi Adie, your not very far from me either. I'm near Cranleigh, Surrey.
Work at FJ in Bracknell in IT too (please note I am not a geek  and prefer engines to pooters) and I've got a totally standard 89' CSW 90 V8.

Keep an eye out for the S*L*U*T*S outings there great fun

Hi Medusa and soz for the late replies everyone!

ITS FINNISHED!! I still having to upload all the pics and do a little write up here as its all on my website at the moment, NichNetwork

On the IT front, Looking for a job so if anyone here of a small business support IT guy needed give me a shout.

on the tyres nos and all that front, we are gunna keep it completely standard, greenlaning and small offroading is what we are looking for nothing too mad as you never know in a couple of years we will do another project and aren’t really looking to put money into a role cage winches big tyres n all that, we just wont get out money back on it. so far the projects cost about 2200 and that’s including the landy in the first place at 562!

It passed the MOT fine so was well chuffed. Like I said goto write something up and show everyone!

Laterz

Excuse me, I joined and posted on this website to share and take an interest in things, not get spoken to like that.

I did write allot more back at you but have deleted it out of courtesy, I hope you think of this next time you post.

i though this was the right sight but didnt expect ya mum jokes on my first hello thread as it where.

when i have needed help i havent needed to post as this site already had it with some friendly banter, i wouldnt count that as firendly for a first post.

i will remind my mum that when she asks then, and also slip ya mum an extra 50p next time as you seem to already be aware of the crunch.

gotcha Mad Hat Man
