hello everyone i am ( will be ) a landy owner on friday and need to replace the head gasket can anyone give me some ideas on how tight the head bolts should be when i put everything back together please i am not 100% sure on how tight they shud be


its a Discovery 300 tdi m reg

Finger tight should be alright, saves using:
a) the search function
b) Busters photo montages
c) common sense
d) your engine again

I did mine a couple of years ago and it was a good way of getting acquainted with my Disco. Do a search and you'll get plenty of pointers, including things that might've made it blow in the first place - there are plenty of stories of folk replacing a head gasket only for it to blow again as they've repaired the symptom and not the cause.
