recently joined, Freelander 1 owner with more than a few issues/questions. Hope to resolve them here.

Hi there yes its petrol, l really like the car but being driven mad by a shuddering sound coming from the rear when cornering, changed the rear diff bushes yesterday and its not cured it, back to the drawing board :)

Petrols are good,despite what the ignorant loonies will say on here:), do a search on your problem though.
It will most likely be either the subframe mountings or a vcu fault.
 
Well Ive had the car coming on 3 years and never had an engine problem which l think speaks for itself, l have had a look at the VCU, yes l have noticed the shuddering seems to be coming from under the drivers seat area, are they easy to change?
 
Vcu is but if it's left too long you will need an ird and that will be expensive/hard to fit for the average diy'er
 
Jeesh l cant believe the price of the VCU, and it might not be that, one more question and l will leave you be :) can these VCUs come reconditioned or will l need to buy new and do you have any suggestions where l might get it, l'm in London btw. Cheers
