Tuckers

I have a 2004 Freelander TDi sport and it used to have a 9 speaker HK sound system.
Now I only have 4 tinny sounding tweeters and a 'part time sub' (it only works when it fancies)
I did perform the recommended modification to the subs living quarters (unfortunately i couldn't find the drill so i used an old screwdriver and a club hammer - result was the same though - all the water fell out ;)

Aside of the sub (i don't miss it much, at least it's not bobbing around in a lake anymore) The thing that's bothering me right now is the mids in the doors...
I recently had to dismantle the drivers door to replace the window regulator when i noticed that the 6" ish mid range was sitting there in silence and that the cone was seized solid.

I took it out and tried to free it up but without success, after that the dog played with it for a bit then it went in the bin.
Since then the one in the passenger door has also retired and this has bought about the revelation that the ones in the back doors have also gone to speaker heaven too so now a supposedly 'slightly better than standard' sound system sounds like 'That guys headphones on the train'

Are the HK mids prone to doing this or have i just been unlucky? And also are there are lots of you wonderful folks now reading this chuckling and thinking 'he's undergone the HK 'mid experience'
Do the tweeters go next too just to conclude the whole 'audio fail'?:D

Any words of advice, sympathy, kindness or sarcasm will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks All,
Tone
