hi anyone!

just paid 49 dollars for nothing trying to get an answer. iv just baught a v8 hse dont no why but i did, heres the problem...

hevac has the fxxxxxg book in the corner, the cold air works fine which is good in summer over here in australia but if i want warm air for the mornings air will come out of every vent but its cold still. ive looked at lots of threads but there all about one side being cold and one side being warm mines just cold full stop. the blend motors are working fine because when i press the buttons to re direct the air i can here them well i think thats what i can here anyway.

i am english so please reply im not an ozzy haha. also roughly how much does it cost for landrover to plug my car in??
 
Hi get the faults read, if the AC and fans are working I would suspect the blend motors, not a nice job but you can do them without removing the dash drill holes in the ducts to get to the screws and duct tape over them after.

Allow a few hours and plenty of change if you have a swear box :mad:

cheers guys, i think it maybee the blend motors aswel, and now another problem has accured the passenger footwell has water in it!!! were abouts are the blend motors roughly.

you said remove the screws but if they are behind the dash how do i get the motors out even though ive removed the screws?

the blend motors are on both sides of the heater unit , if you do a search on "blend motors" on any landrover forum then you will get chapter and verse on it. The passenger side is the easiest to do , thee driver side is a bit of a pita but doable in situ without having to rebuild the whole vehicle (just :)) the actual motors are rebuildable if you dont want to splice the harness, (ie if its just stripped gear) make sure you get the indexing right . Its about a 2 hour job (with time for a can or two of VB )
 
quick update, found the motors by the way after removing bottom of dash two screws... anyway heres the symptoms again
.all air flow buttons work fine and direct air to the correct places
.air con works ok ish as good as p38 should which i believe aint good :D
.when on cold, cold air comes out both side fine exactly the same
(heres were my problem is different to the rest of the threads ive seen)
.no warm air at all, not warm one side cold at the other, just nice and simple cold air everwere.
.both hoses going into car are hot
.all fuses are good and relays
.fan next to or under clock is fine for temp thing
.cruise control does not work as pipes are ****ed at the ends common problem will this effect the warm air problem???
.book and ! symbol still on
.even on full fan power still no heat
.both fans work good
.pollen filter is new
.can see a really small amount of coolant not enough to wet you finger even, on drivers side air duct at the bottom on a joint (duct maybee)

any more help welcome before the main dealers pull my pants down tomorrow please thanks for the help so far i love the car and im determined to keep it you no what i mean im sure:welcome2:
 
It sounds like NOT one of blend motors the as two operate the hot/cold blend one each side . So more like hot water valve not opening , not 100% sure re hot water valve as have not had to investigate that problem on a P38 . The fault code should guide you . HTSH
 
hot water valve thats a new one there, i will look that up see what google or something comes up with. iv found someone on an ozzy forum on the gold coast called murray he breaks p38s, he said he will plug it in for me and see what he can think of
