got a little problem with my HEVAC unit (who hasnt?).
Anywa it all still works, but periodically the backlight on the display goes on and off at will. Seems to be on and off at random, not even related to bumps in the road, sounds like a poor earth on the backlight.

Anyone know what its like to get out?

Get to the rear of the hevac by removing the radio. You may be able to get to the small bulb in the middle of the hevac panel if you have small fingers. It twists and comes out. It will be a small green bulb - cost about £2 from land rover.
If you cant get at it then you need to go the long way round. remove window panel, remove sides then 4 screws holding hevac in place.

had the same problem with mine & even tho' my fingers aren't sausage like I couldn't get in by removing the radio.

Got info from rangerover.net, removed centre console side panels (dead easy) & HEVAC unit (4 screws & 3 multiplugs).

Replaced all the bulbs while it was out, brought a kit from e-bay £9 for the set of 4 (3 black holders for lighting up the switches etc. & 1 green holder for the display)

whole job took less than an hour and now it all lights up as it should
