Since i got her the hevac display had the book and warning sign on it and recently it only worked wen it felt like it . Purchased new 1 from breakers seen workin and all fine before it was taken out plugged it into mine and same problem . Is there any tips on a quick fix or does it need a full diagnostic

Diagnostics. Usually a blend or distribution motor problem. Depends what it is doing as to which.

Its another 1 that works wen it feels like it . Evry now and then on start up book and warning sign are gone it all woks fine blows hot and cold

Each time car is started Hevac does a self check, cycles motors from and back to their selected positions. Fault sign will come up if one does not get to it's set point for any reason. As heater gets hot things free off so next time you start car all is good. Try cycling the flaps manually via the selector buttons to exercise them. May help a bit.

Nothing wrong with the HEVAC unit, as Wammers said, most likely it's just reporting a blend motor failure. Expensive way of fault finding chucking new bits at it without knowing what the problem is.

I have same sort of thing with mine, im sure its the blend motors as cant direct air flow but can get hot and cold on drivers side but not the other side so it can wait till the new year now as gets hot inside so in no rush.:5bdriving:

N/S blend motor duff, O/S blend motor Ok. Distribution motor (Upper one R/H side of heater) either duff or flaps seized (common fault) Distribution motor has a lot more work to do than the other two.
