Is the early discovery/Range rover transfer box any better than my one on my 1986 90 fitted with a 200Tdi discovery engine? its also running 265/75/R16 insa turbo special tracks!!!!

ratio in high box is better as it is 1.22 to 1 wheras 90 one is 1.4 to 1, shud work with your bigger tyres but it will drag a bit cos of them

changed the ftransfer on me daughters 90 for a disco one big improvement. but dirtylandy off here has same size tyres as you on his disco and reckons that he is gewttin less miles per gallon and is slower cos of the extra drag of the tyre width (he is goin back to 235/85 x 16 when tothers are worn out)

Is the first gear a bit longer then cos as it is now its better to pull off in 2nd!!!
