P38 Diesel.

How do you get the water pump back in?
I cannot get it to go past the seal. Rave is a little vague it just says fit the pump and tighten the bolts the 10nm. What is doesn't say is whether you use the bolt to help get the pump to marry up and get the seal in?

Can somebody offer some pearls of wisdom please,

I did my 4.6 the other day by foot! Amazingfeet - YouTube I used a couple of bolts to line it up and then pushed it in place, put all bolts in and then just went round them tightening bit by bit, I had a bolt shere when I took out the old one too which was a pain, but got there in the end, the hardest part was getting all of the old gasket off without damaging the face, it's all in now though, but with diesels I wouldn't know for sure but it is probably similar and again make sure the old gasket is all off and just make sure it's all lined up, hope you manage it ok, Rich

All done, back together and so far it doesn't seem to be leaking

if you mean have I still got fiagra then yes!! and hopefully I'll be driving it properly soon without worrying about breaking down, changed nearly every component now!!!
